Ahmadi Muslims Honoring 9/11 and Boston Bombing Victims

Peace- one of the many controversial topics related to Islam. The connotation that comes to mind relating the word ‘peace’ and ‘Islam’ is rather ironic to most people. But this is not the case. Islam itself means “peace and obedience.” The Islam  depicted in the media is a morphed religion masked by the name Islam.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him) is a true exemplar who demonstrated through his example how Islam made service to mankind one of  the most important teachings laid out in the Holy Quran.  The Quran states, "And do not forget to do good to one another" (2:238).  The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the oldest Muslim organization in the US, in following this commandment has launched campaigns  such as, ‘Muslims for Life’ and ‘Muslims for Peace’ to display the true teachings of Islam.  Humanity First, a disaster relief organization, working under the umbrella of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has been serving people across the nation and the world for many years.

Promoting peace and sanctity of life are the main concerns of  the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community worldwide. More than a hundred years ago, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who claimed to be the Messiah foretold by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him) explained that the age of Jihad of the sword is over. The Quran clearly states that there is no compulsion in religion. Ahmad stated, “The sword, far from revealing the beauties and excellence of truth, makes them dubious and throws them into background. Those who hold such views are not the friends of Islam but its deadly foes.”

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community lives by the simple motto “Love for All, Hatred for None.” And it is with this motto that Ahmadi Muslims worldwide strive to make peace and serve mankind. God tells the Muslims in the Holy Quran, "You are the best people ever raised for the good of mankind;  you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in God" (3:111). Keeping in mind the motto and this decree from God  the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has launched its 3rd annual “Muslims for Life” campaign across the U.S.A.

It is one of the many campaigns that the Community has put into action. In this campaign blood bags are collected to honor the victims of 9/11  and the Boston Bombing .  The campaign which began on August 11th  will end on October 11th. The goal is to collect 12,000 pints of blood which will help save 36,000 lives.
