Marion Drury Lang of Johns Creek Has Passed Away

Ms. Lang, born in 1929, was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling the world. She passed away on Dec. 26, 2013.

Marian Drury Lang of Johns Creek Georgia passed away on December 26, 2013 from a brain tumor. She was 84.

She was preceded in death by her husband, I Ward Lang Jr and her sister, Allene Drury Doyle. She is survived by a sister, Joyce Dinkins of Folkston and three children: Donna Kee Lang of Norcross, I Ward Lang III (Linda) of Peachtree Corners, and Warren S. Lang of Cumming.

She has four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Marian was born Feb 18, 1929 in White Oak, Georgia.

After graduating from Camden County High School, she moved to Brunswick for a short time. Then she married I. Ward (Pete) Lang while he was a student at the University of Georgia. They lived in Jacksonville, Washington D.C. and Charlotte before settling in the Atlanta area in 1964.

Marian was an avid gardener, card player and golfer. She is a former President of the Norcross Garden Club, as well as the Berkley Hills Country Club and Atlanta Athletic Club Women's Golf associations.

She travelled the world countless times Hawaii was her favorite vacation destination. She enjoyed fishing trips with her family and consistently caught more fish than the boys.

Per her instructions, her body was cremated and there will be no memorial service. The family will hold a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in her name to Norcross First United Methodist Church (2500 Beaver Ruin Rd, Norcross GA 30071), or to the Waverly United Methodist Church (427 Middleton Rd, Waverly GA 31565).
