January 23, 1960 - December 1, 2013
On Sunday, December 1, 2013 Roy Gregory "Greg" Carscallen, 53, of Johns Creek, GA, passed away into eternal life.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 11045 Parsons Road, on Friday, December 6th at 10:30 a.m. with a private, family Committal Service being held on Saturday, December 7th.
Greg was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology (1982) and a loyal “Yellow Jackets” fan, supporter, and tailgater. His professional career included senior management consulting roles at Andersen Consulting and Norrell, and executive leadership roles as Chief Operating Officer at MDP, and Vice President at BravePoint for the last 19 years.
Greg’s love for travel and sense of adventure were shared with his friends and family, whether hiking to a waterfall, coaching soccer, or attending his children’s swimming and water polo events. Greg was an Eagle Scout and watched with pride as his son, Christopher achieved the same honor.
Greg loved a competitive racquetball match as much as he lived for going out dancing with his daughter, Caroline, and wife, Beth. His family and friends were the benefactors of Greg’s good character and Christian values. When asked for advice, his response was always “do what is right”.
Greg will be forever be remembered by his best friend and wife of 25 years, Beth Bohannon Carscallen, and loving father to their two wonderful children, Caroline and Christopher; by his parents Charlie and Lou Carscallen of Decatur, GA; his brother Cutty Carscallen and sister-in-law Caye of Lawrenceville, GA; his sister Mary Morgan and brother-in-law Bill, of Orlando, FL; mother-in-law Betty Hill of Statesboro, GA; sister-in-law Becky Johnson and brother-in-law Don Johnson of Statesboro, GA; along with his nieces, nephews and extended family, fraternity brothers, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you honor Greg and his courageous battle with polycystic kidney disease with a donation in his honor to the PKDFoundation, In Memory of Greg Carscallen, 8330 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114, https://www.pkdcure.org/donate/tribute-gift.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by SouthCare Cremation & Funeral Society, Alpharetta, GA. (678) 735-5500.
