Johns Creek Brothers Part of Winning Team at National Competition Event

Andrew Jeng, 16, and Richard Jeng, 13 were members of the winning team at the National Youth Swiss Teams event.

Murphy Green, 19, of Alpharetta, Andrew Jeng, 16, and Richard Jeng, 13,  of Johns Creek were members of the team that won the National Youth Swiss Teams event at the Youth North American Bridge Championships (YNABC) that concluded August 3 in Atlanta. This is the second consecutive win for the teens in this contest. The YNABC is sponsored annually by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL).

Green, a sophomore at the University of Georgia, has been a member of the ACBL since age 13. In 2012 he was named the King of Bridge, an honor given to a graduating high school senior with an excellent bridge record that positively promotes the game. Last summer, Green was a member of the USA 2 team competing for the Damiani Cup at the 14th World Youth Bridge Team Championships in Taicang, China. Additionally, he received the Sportsmanship Award, a peer-voted honor, at the 2012 YNABC.

Since joining the ACBL in 2006, the Jengs have dominated the youth bridge tournament circuit. Youth wins include the 2010 National Youth Open Pairs, 2012 Youth National Swiss Teams and multiple Georgia Youth titles. Last summer the brothers were members of the silver medalist USA 1 team competing for the Damiani Cup.
