Stay Organized - Tip of the Day: Tackling the Paper Piles

From Payne to Gain Organizing is presenting a daily tip in January - Get Organized Month. Follow full blog at www.frompaynetogainorganizing.com.

Getting a handle on the paper piles and files in your home is a process unto itself.  One place I like to start with people is related to the copious amounts of manuals and misc paper materials related to purchases for the home.  If the paper/items relate to a warranty or other such type of item, BY ALL MEANS KEEP THEM but file them into a "Warranties" or "Household Products" folder. For ALL the other manuals/misc papers that came with your blender or alarm clock, etc. that you kept "just in case"...ask yourself this question:  "If I actually needed info or a replacement part related to this product - would I know where to find this piece of paper OR would I simply go to the internet and look up the appropriate website and contact customer service that way?"

If the answer is the computer - toss the papers and you might just have cleared out a good chunk!  Once you make some room and make some progress, it's easier to start on the next pile!
