Breathe Green & Easy

Company launches campaign promoting indoor air quality awareness.

It’s been played out several times in movies and commercials: that moment a person steps into their home after a long day, and they invoke a sense of calm and comfort that is marked by a long, deep, relaxing breath.

However, most people don’t realize that deep breath can include unseen toxins that are harmful to your health. During the month of February, Pro Energy Consultants will be educating consumers and communities on how to make sure their home is the safe breathing environment it should be. Pro Energy is also running a contest, entering those who share a story about poor air quality in their home into a random drawing for a $250 gift card to stores.

“Building performance has a direct effect on the air quality of the house,” stated Mark Cannella, founder of the Pro Energy Consultants franchise system, which has a location in the North Atlanta area. “Ventilation, air flow, how the systems of the house work together and how the house is designed are all factors, and that’s why energy audits can help identify air quality problems. We’ve had several situations where we’ve identified an issue that was making the customer sick and they didn’t even know about it.”

Pro Energy’s ‘Breathe GREEN & Easy’ campaign will share details about common pollutants found in a home (and their sources), and the importance of proper ventilation and air flow. The information will be distributed via daily tweets, blog postings, whitepapers and videos throughout February.

“We love helping people save energy, save money and be more comfortable in their homes” states Cannella, “but safety is obviously our primary concern. Our goal is to educate consumers to help them protect their families. But, by taking steps to improve air quality, they can also improve the efficiency of their home as well! We think that is truly ‘breathing green!’”
