Nature is Always Open!

Visit the Chattahoochee Nature Center where ‘Nature' is open every day of the year!  Winter is a great time to see naked trees stretch their limbs, exposing beautiful bark.  Make your resolutions count and take a hike to keep fit during your winter break.  1 short loop around our new Wildlife Walk (using ramps) is 0.3 miles with 3 laps making a mile. You won’t even notice the brisk weather while observing wildlife, listening to songbirds and watching the antics of squirrels and other woodland creatures!

Take our Winter Scavenger Hunt “Mysteries of Winter” - What do animals around the world do when it gets cold? Do they gather into groups? Do they hibernate?  Search the trails of the Nature Center for clues to the Mysteries of Winter during this winter scavenger hunt from December till February.

In The Nature Exchange during December -  Animal Gaggles, Groups & Gatherings: What do an army, a tower and a bed have in common? They are all groups of animals. Learn all about animal groups and how & why animals gather together with fun activities that will take you all over the Nature Exchange.
