In a video posted on his webpage (montigelforcongress.com) Montigel stated: “Congress is broken and our Congressman Tom Price is one reason why. We need people in Congress free from special interests, thoughtful and willing to compromise. Together we can begin to change Congress. I feel it is my duty to try”

In the release, Montigel has pledged not to accept any special interest money. He believes that with the help of social media and a network of supporters that his message of hope will reach the voters. He is a fiscal conservative but is concerned about social issues.

He believes in individual, but also social responsibility. He also believes that we can reduce our deficit and eventually the national debt by focusing on all spending, including what Simpson and Bowles call tax spending. This can be done while maintaining important programs such as Medicare and Social Security.
