Watch 'Ring of Fire' Solar Eclipse Online

Today's solar eclipse best viewed online on the East Coast.

While star-gazers and space fanatics in Johns Creek and the rest of the Atlanta area and Georgia likely won't be able to view today's "Ring of Fire" solar eclipse from their back yards, it can be viewed online at Space.com.

Our West Coast friends will have a much better view of the eclipse, which begins in southern China and ends around sunset in northern Texas.

According to Space.com, this rare phenomenon is called a "Ring of Fire" because the moon will darken 94 percent of earthdwellers' view of the sun, leaving a fiery ring visible.
