Speak Out: FDA Lowers Plan B Pill Age to 15

What do you think about the agency's approval of over-the-counter emergency contraceptive for ages 15 and up.

Tell us what you think! The Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday approved over-the-counter sales for Plan B One-Step emergency contraceptive for women ages 15 and up. The contraceptive was previously available over the counter for women ages 17 and up.

According to the FDA, the Plan B pill will be labeled “not for sale to those under 15 years of age *proof of age required* not for sale where age cannot be verified.” The item will contain a product code prompting the cashier to ask for the consumer's age.
