Severe Weather on the Way Just in Time for Rush Hour

National Weather Service predicts chance of strong storms, high winds. Tornado watch in effect until 8.

A tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service is in effect until 8 p.m. in the metro area and a wind advisory is in effect until 7, meaning sustained winds could reach 20 to 25 miles per hour and gusts could reach 35.

Stormy weather is starting to enter North Georgia and should reach Johns Creek around 5 p.m. According to the Weather Channel, there's a 35 percent chance of strong storms by 5, and chances jump to 85 percent by 6.

Skies should clear by midnight, and the temperature will drop to 40 degrees by 3 a.m.
