Report: Perimeter Church May Cut Ties With Boy Scouts

Troop 317 may separate from Scouts after vote to allow gay youths.

On the heels of the Boy Scouts' vote to allow gay youths in the organization, 11Alive is reporting that Perimeter Church in Johns Creek may cut ties with the Scouts.

Scoutmaster Luke Vancleave of Troop 317 — sponsored by Perimeter Church — told 11Alive that they will meet this week to decide whether to cut ties with the Scouts.

In nearby Marietta, members of Roswell Street Baptist Church Sunday gave their senior pastor a standing ovation Sunday for his stance against the Boy Scouts of America's decision to allow openly gay members.
