One Dead in Three-Vehicle Crash in Forsyth County - Cumming Patch

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office  continues its investigation of a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 9 and North Old Atlanta Road in which one person died late Thursday afternoon. 

Lesia Elaine Bennett, 43, of Berry Court in Cumming, was transported to Northside Hospital-Forsyth where she was pronounced dead, according to Deputy First Class Michael Nelson of the FCSO. Visit Cumming Patch for more on this story.

Marietta Firefighter Dies After Collapsing at Scene of Auto Accident - Marietta Patch

Marietta Fire Engineer Lonnie Nutt "succumbed to a medical issue he experienced after collapsing during a call" while providing aide to an injured motorist, according to a statement released by the Marietta Fire Department Thursday evening.

Deputies Seek Man Who Allegedly Tried To Abduct Children - Canton-Sixes Patch

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a man who may be attempting to abduct children from the Canton area.

According to a Sheriffs Office press release, the incident occurred on March 2 in the vicinity of Parc Drive in Canton, and involved three girls who were part of a birthday party scavenger hunt. The party goers had split up into teams of three to go on the scavenger hunt. Middle School Teacher Arrested on Trying to Sell Methadone No Longer Employed By System - Barrow Patch

A Winder-Barrow Middle School teacher who was arrested Wednesday is no longer employed by the school system, Superintendent Wanda Creel said in an e-mail Thursday afternoon. 

The e-mail stated the teacher is charged with distribution/solicitation with an electronic device, reckless conduct and criminal intent to distribute methadone.Visit Barrow Patch for more on this story. 


Early Morning Fire Damages Buckhead Home - Buckhead Patch

A Buckhead home on Dellwood Drive, near West Wesley Road was almost fully engulfed in flames Friday morning, as firefighters worked hard to save as much as the home as possible. 

According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, flames from the fire could be seen shooting out of the second-story windows as it moved through the walls of the house. Visit Buckhead Patch for more on this story.
