Dunwoody Police are currently looking for Michael Thomas Pavlic, a local 71-year-old Alzheimer's patient that's been missing since last Monday near Wickford Way.

He was last seen at 10 p.m. driving a red 2004 Toyota Corolla Matrix. The Georgia license tag is 593LAP, and he was traveled in an unknown direction., police say.

He was wearing plaid shorts and a T-shirt. He suffers from mild Alzheimers, and he's not currently carryng his medication, according to authoriites.

- Sandy Springs Patch

A Sandy Springs man has a court appearance Monday morning for the shooting of his neighbor, on Saturday evening. 

CBS Atlanta reports that Lamar Reese was in a 30-minute stand-off with the North Metro SWAT team at the Parc at Dunwoody apartments, after his neighbor called 911 saying Reese had shot him. 

The neighbor had a non-life threatening wound, the report said, and was transported to the hospital. Reese has been held in Fulton County Jail.

Wrapping up its 7th consecutive run, once again challenged Atlantans to “give of their livers to save the river” this summer during their annual Save the Hooch campaign, helping to protect the Chattahoochee River – a source of water for more than four million Atlanta natives. SweetWater Brewery presented Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) with this year’s check for $30,000 at their End of Summer BBQ celebration on Saturday, Aug. 4 at Canoe on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta.

The brewery’s Save the Hooch campaigns have brought in $380,000 for CRK since they joined forces back in 2006. Funds from the campaign help CRK to better patrol, protect and preserve one of Georgia’s most precious resources.

Canton Police Chief Bob Merchant accused the department's spokeswoman of carrying on a sexual relationship with a recently retired Sandy Springs Police captain and using funds from the agency's Explorers program to purchase a $6,000 customized golf cart for the man's disabled son in an internal memo obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta.

Canton Police Sgt. Stacy Bailey is the , officials with both agencies told Canton-Sixes Patch on Wednesday.

So is Sandy Springs Police Capt. Scott Jamison, according to the Fox 5 Atlanta news report. Jamison took a voluntary retirement on July 16, Sandy Springs public information officer Steve Rose told Sandy Springs Patch.
