The parents and a male friend of a have been arrested, officials with the said tonight [July 31].

The boy's parents, Brian and Sandra Howell, were arrested this evening [Tuesday] and charged with six counts of possession and manufacture of a destructive device as well as two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

"Our investigation revealed they had knowledge of what was going on," Canton Police Chief Bob Merchant told Canton-Sixes Patch. He said six devices were found in the home.

The Gwinnett Daily Post reported Saturday that Hannah Rinehart, a patient care technician at DeKalb Medical-Hillandale, fell victim to a bacterial infection that claimed both her hands and lower legs.  

Rinehart developed aches and pains, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post, but once her fever broke the couple put their worries aside.  

When Hannah, a cancer survivor, went to see her oncologist for an appointment, her husband Mark had to "carry her in." The couple lives in Decatur. 

She has been comatose for weeks.

 

- Douglasville Patch

Chad Eugene Pierre-Louis, 25, was convicted on charges of second-degree child cruelty and received 10 years, with eight to be served behind bars, as well as a $1,000 fine for his part in the beating of a 3-year-old boy on the side of the road last November, according to a report in the Douglas County Sentinel.

Pierre-Louis was present when Suzie Elie, 24, was seen by witnesses hitting her son with a switch on the side of the road, according to the Facebook page.
