A 33-year-old man was struck by a car and killed on the Loop near Highway 316 Thursday night, according to an email release from the Oconee County Sheriff's Office and a post on the office's Facebook Page. Officials responded to the call about 11:18 p.m.
"The person killed had stopped to assist the driver of another vehicle that had broken down in the travel lane," the Georgia State Patrol said in an email.Β .
