Alpharetta Will Close Part of Haynes Bridge Road Next Week - Alpharetta Patch

A week from Thursday the top end of Haynes Bridge Road will be closed so the rerouting of the road can be completed by the end of the year.

Hurricanes and tropical storms pulled Georgia Power, AT&T and other utility company crews away from Georgia, creating a major delay in the road project, according to Pete Sewczwicz, director of the Department of Engineering and Public Works.

Sewczwicz said city staff has been working with CW Matthews to find a way to speed the process up. "That is to close Haynes Bridge Road between Old Milton and Academy Street until Dec. 31," he said. See Alpharetta Patch for more on this story.

PGA Champions Tour Event Coming to Sugarloaf - Duluth Patch

Pro golf will return to the area in April 2013. The PGA Champions Tour, which boasts some of the top names in pro golf, will hold a tourney at TPC Sugarloaf on April 15-21, 2013, it was announced today.

Hertz has put up a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Monique Marlowe of Duluth, according to a media update issued by the Gwinnett Police Department. 

Anyone with information on this case should contact Homicide Unit detectives at 770-513-5300. 

The Gwinnett Police Department Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the homicide, which occurred between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Hertz Rent-A-Car located at 3492 Satellite Blvd. in unincorporated Duluth. See Duluth Patch for more on this story.
