Andrea Sneiderman Pleads Not Guilty - Dunwoody Patch

Andrea Sneiderman pleaded not guilty to an indictment in which she is accused of conspiring to kill her husband for $2 million in insurance money.

Sneiderman appeared at an arraignment hearing Monday in DeKalb County Superior Court. She faces charges of murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, perjury and other charges.

Hemy Neuman, Andrea Seniderman's former boss, was convicted in March of shooting her husband, Russell Sniderman. Neuman was sentenced to life in prison. Seniderman was released on bond but cannot leave her parent's Roswell home. See Dunwoody Patch for more on this story.

Overturned Big Rig Shuts Down GA-140

A tractor trailer hauling trash overturned on GA-140 (Hickory Flat Hwy) at Interstate 575, shutting down 140 Monday morning.

United States Poet Laureate Visits Gwinnett - Snellville Patch

Pulitzer prize winning author Natasha Trethewey spoke Sunday, Oct. 7, at Georgia Gwinnett College. Named United States poet laureate back in June, Trethewey’s duties began in September.

As the daughter of a white man and black woman who were illegally married in the '60s, Trethewey uses poetry as a tool to vividly describe the implications of race throughout history while discovering what it means for her, personally. Services are Tuesday for Teen Killed in Crash - Cartersville Patch

Funeral services are set for Tuesday for a Cartersville teen killed early Saturday when his truck overturned in a single-vehicle crash.

Caleb Donovan Thacker, 19, was driving east on Industrial Park Road in Cartersville when his truck left the roadway about 4:10 a.m., WBHF-AM 1450 reported. Thacker, who was not buckled up, was ejected as his truck rotated and overturned, striking a utility pole, road sign and railroad rail before coming to rest upside down.
