Johns Creek Resident Named Director of Volunteer Services

Kevin E. Brown, Johns Creek resident, has been named director of Piedmont Atlanta Hospital’s new volunteer services department. As part of Piedmont’s service excellence team, he is responsible for establishing and directing the organization of volunteer services at the hospital.

Brown, who is currently working to launch unique volunteer services that involve the community while enhancing customer service, joins Piedmont with more than 35 years of customer service and volunteer management experience in the Atlanta arts community.

“We are lucky to have such a talented and respected professional like Kevin Brown to lead our volunteers,” said Les Donahue, president and CEO of Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. “With his help, we hope to grow our volunteer services to better serve the needs of our community.”

The initiatives Brown is working on include enhancing ties within the community, conducting the orientation and training of volunteers to ensure positive volunteer experiences, and designing a summer teen program. Brown hopes to recruit a number of additional volunteers to help him.

Hospital volunteer duties include escorting patients, assisting with directions, clerical work and giving measures of comfort. As a member of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce and a board member of his Johns Creek neighborhood, Brown is a respected community leader with a passion for customer service and non-profit organizations. Outside his role at Piedmont Atlanta, Brown assists with the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra on a volunteer basis by providing recruitment and training in addition to managing front-of-house operations at concerts.
