2 Arrested After Wania Food Mart Gambling Sting - Marietta Patch

Two Wania Food Mart employees are accused of permitting illegal gambling inside the Pat Mell Road store.

During undercover operations from March 27 to April 4, Marietta-Cobb-Smyrna Narcotics agents who won credit and/or money on the store's electronic gaming machines were paid with cash from the business register.

Employees Admasu T. Wuibshete of Atlanta and Fethi A. Ibrahim of Lawrenceville were captured on audio and video making the illegal payments to the agents, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. Marietta Patch has more on this story.

Home on Hopkins Mill Road Declared Total Loss - Duluth Patch

A vacant home at 2081 Hopkins Mill Road in Duluth was declared a total loss following a fire reported shortly after midnight Tuesday (April 9).

Gwinnett firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting a neighboring house on fire, according to Capt. Tommy Rutledge in a news release. The caller reported the home engulfed in flames at the time of the call. Crews found the one-story brick home over a basement fully involved on arrival, Rutledge said. Man Falls 11 Floors at Ovation Buckhead Plaza Condos - Buckhead Patch

The Atlanta Police Department reports that a man fell to his death from a high-rise condo building in Buckhead on Monday morning.

According to Officer Kim Jones, around 5:14 a.m., Buckhead Zone 2 officers responded "and located a male lying on the ground unresponsive." The man was found outside of the Ovation Buckhead Plaza condos on Peachtree Road. Buckhead Patch has more on this story.

- Lilburn-Mountain Park Patch

The Lilburn Police Department needs the community's help in identifying a man who was struck and killed while crossing the road on April 7.

Police say a vehicle traveling northbound on Pleasant Hill Road hit the man, as he was crossing at a dimly lit section about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday.

An initial investigation determined that speed was not a factor, and no charges are pending against the driver, according to a police department press release. Lilburn-Mountain Park Patch has more on this story.

Cops: Dog Disfigured in Austell - South Cobb Patch

An Austell man is accused of repeatedly striking a dog in the face and head with a broken metal broom handle.

The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Sylvia Street.

According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, Kenny Sullivan allegedly beat the dog to the point that it had a deep laceration above its left eye and a bloody, swollen left eyeball that required emergency medical treatment. South Cobb Patch has more on this story.

Montago Ackey, 18, and a 15-year-old juvenile have been charged with robbery and battery after a man was a attacked and robbed in the field behind the Villa Rica Wal-Mart on April 3, according to a report from the Villa Rica Police Department. The juvenile's name is being withheld.

Villa Rica Police responded to the field behind Wal-Mart after a 23-year-old man reported he had been attacked by two suspects and robbed of his cash. The victim suffered minor injuries during the robbery.

Villa Rica Police tracked the two suspects to 698 Spring St. and located the two subjects inside the house. Douglasville Patch has more on this story.
