Update: Johns Creek Runners OK After Boston Explosion

Two Johns Creek runners, families were near explosions at Monday's Boston Marathon.

Update, Wednesday, April 17, 10:50 a.m.:

Updates from two of Johns Creek's runners in Monday's Boston Marathon have appeared on Johns Creek Patch's Facebook page.

We are home safe from Boston. I was stopped half a mile from the finish. My husband was at the finish at the site of the first bomb but was unharmed. It was a wonderful day in Boston until the bombs went off.

He had finished and was about a block and a half from the first explosion. Our boys and I were in between the two explosions, but were unharmed.

Original story, Monday, April 15, 6:15 p.m.:

Boston Police are reporting at least three people died and many more were injured after two explosions occurred Monday afternoon near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. 

Video of the incident shows the explosion knocking runners and bystanders to the ground following the blast. 

The Boston Marathon released a statement around 4 p.m. that said, "There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today's Boston Marathon. We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened."

According to the Boston Marathon's website, five runners listed Johns Creek as their hometown: Ronald E. Anglade, Kelley A. Butcher, Jason Massie, Dennis C. Murray and David H. Skalka.
