Emory Johns Creek Honored for Patient Safety

Johns Creek hospital named to GHA Chairman's Circle.

Our neighborhood hospital has received accolades for patient safety.

Emory Johns Creek Hospital has been named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s (GHA) Chairman’s Circle for patient safety in 2012. The Chairman's Circle is the second highest category in the GHA’s Hospital Engagement Network recognition program. The designation places the hospital between the 80th and 90th percentile or above.

“We are delighted by this honor, which confirms the splendid work of our doctors and staff members, who every day make patient care and safety their top priority,” said Craig McCoy, CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital, in a press release. “We will continue enhancing our efforts in these crucial areas.”

The Hospital Engagement Network is a national contract awarded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. It encourages hospitals nationally to improve patient safety and quality and lower costs. The goal of the network is to reduce hospital-acquired conditions statewide by 40 percent and hospital readmissions by 20 percent by the end of 2013.

“With the leadership and commitment of the staff at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, these significant, life-saving goals for patient care and safety are contributing to better outcomes for our patients,” McCoy added.
