Body of Lawrenceville Man Pulled from Lake Lanier - Lawrenceville Patch

The Hall County Fire Department's Dive Team reportedly pulled the body of 54 year old Robert Armistead of Lawrenceville from Lake Lanier Sunday according to CBS Atlanta.

The dive team responded to a call of a capsized boat near the Aqualand Marina at around 10:30am Sunday. See Lawrenceville Patch for more on this story.

A Canton man is in critical condition at Kennestone Hospital after being struck by a truck while riding his bicycle Saturday afternoon.

According to a Canton Police Department press release, Louis Phillips, 66, was struck by a Chevrolet pick up truck traveling west on Cumming Highway at 4:51 p.m. on Jan. 5. The accident occurred near the on-ramp to northbound Interstate 575. See Canton-Sixes Patch for more on this story.


Suspected Drunk Driver from Kennesaw Faces New Charges - Kennesaw Patch

A suspected drunk driver from Kennesaw who allegedly hit an Atlanta police officer's patrol car faces new charges.

Scott Eugene Welker, 45, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata around 11:25 p.m. Friday when he hit Officer Osbert Beckles' patrol car, Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said.

Beckles was taken to the Intensive Care Unit at Grady Hospital with head and chest injuries and broken bones after authorities extricated him from his vehicle, said Officer John Chafee, spokesman for the Atlanta Police Department. See Kennesaw Patch for more on this story.

Taxi Driver Robbed at Gunpoint in Marietta - Marietta Patch

The Cobb County Police Department is investigating an armed robbery, which occurred near the intersection of Hollydale Court and Red Berry Lane in Marietta on Jan. 4.

According to investigators, a taxi cab driver for A-1 Taxi was dispatched to pick up a fare at a residence on Hollydale Court. When he arrived near the intersection of Red Berry Lane, two men got into the back seat while a third man approached the car on foot.

As the man who was approaching the car got closer, he began demanding money from the driver. At the same time, one of the two men in the back seat produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim. See Marietta Patch for more on this story.
