Little Alley Steak Opens in Downtown Roswell

The newest steakhouse in Roswell officially opened this week.

After months of preparation and a weekend of preview events, Little Alley Steak on Canton Street officially opened this week.

The steakhouse - opened by Hicham Azhari and Fikret Kovac who also co-own  and  on Canton Street - has already received a plethora of press and local buzz for its take on the all-American steakhouse.

Inspired by the 1880s, the restaurant features a new spin on the expected industrial interior trend that has delighted customers at both of the restaurateurs' other two Roswell restaurants. A bull's head greets visitors over the door and Edison bulbs are hung from meat hooks inside the space.

Chef Robert McDonough takes the lead in creating a menu as unique as the interior design.

According to their Facebook page, Little Alley Steak’s menu showcases "custom-sliced American charcuterie, a selection of fine and butcher’s cut, market fresh seafood and local Southern favorites." The Chicago butcher "Meats by Linz" has been selected to provide the restaurant with steak and seafood selections.

“We have created an old-world-meets-present-day eatery with an affordable and select menu,” said Azhari in a written statement. “McDonough’s fresh, innovative perspective, culinary passion and expertise blend with innate talent behind the fire, and we’re proud to open Little Alley Steak with him at the kitchen’s helm.”

In addition to Southern favorites, a boutique and vintage alcohol menu, market fresh seafood and the cut-to-order butcher's selections, the restaurant also incorporates Azhari’s Moroccan background with specialties like porcini-crusted Dayboat scallops with parsnip puree, pork belly, spinach and truffle-scented walnut froth and Moroccan-style shrimp with garlic tomato along with tagine of escargot and preserved lemon with pernod, ras al hanout spice, garlic and a batboute flat bread.

The restaurant's hours are Monday through Thursday 4 p.m.-10 p.m.; Friday through Saturday 4 p.m.-11 p.m.; Sunday 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Call 770-998-0440 for reservations.
