Leadership Johns Creek 2012 Class Graduates

Class project enhanced fitness trail in Technology Park.

Leadership Johns Creek (LJC) completed its third year by graduating 27 class members.  LJC is designed to develop leadership talent in individuals representing the Johns Creek community through a structured series of learning experiences. People from all types of business, civic, volunteer and religious organizations are invited to participate.

The 10-month program began in September with a kick-off retreat at the Legacy Lodge on Lake Lanier Islands followed by eight monthly one-day sessions. In addition to leadership training and development, class participants gained insight into business, government, community quality of life, volunteer service and local history.

A vital component of the LJC program is community service.  The Class of 2012 in Johns Creek Technology Park as a way to provide Johns Creek residents with a place to enjoy nature and contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

This half-mile lakefront trail was transformed with restored picnic tables, bird feeders, three new fitness stations, new trash collection bins, additional seating along the trail and mosaic artwork. Easy entry to Fitness Trail 7 is just behind at 11555 Johns Creek Pkwy.

Thursday, June 14, was the culmination of the year with a graduation dinner and ceremony at the with featured speaker State Rep. Lynne Riley. Grant Hickey, LJC president. and Elizabeth Warren, incoming LJC president, thanked 2012 Platinum sponsors the , , Northside Hospital Forsyth and Optech-Monette, and Silver sponsor CH2M Hill for their support of this year’s program.
