Johns Creek Smoothie King Launches New Customer Loyalty App

Users can redeem coupons and rewards, accumulate and track points, all from their smartphones.

Peeved over misplaced customer loyalty punch cards and print coupons? There’s an app for that.

franchise fans can now use their smartphones and tablets with photo capability to redeem coupons, track and program favorite drink combinations, wirelessly accumulate rewards points for merch discounts, and even score some freebies with a new mobile app.

To download the app, go to www.SmoothieKing.com. Or, visit any metro Atlanta location to scan a special square QR - quick response - code at the order counter that will automatically access a download page for iPhone, iPad and Android users.

To participate in the app’s King’s Rewards loyalty program, users must first set up a secure account with their email address and ZIP code, among other optional information like date of birth and phone number.

Once the app is active, users can then enable automatic updates and even locate Smoothie King locations everywhere via the app’s GPS function.

For social media users, the app also offers sign in capability by accessing a Facebook or Twitter account where orders can be shared for friends and followers to see.

And to help customers avoid the inevitable loss of paper punch cards and print coupons, special electronic app readers have been installed beside registers. So all users need to do when completing their purchase at a participating Smoothie King is wave their phones over the register reader while the app is open and wireless technology takes it from there.

Sanden Andrews, who owns and operates Johns Creek and Duluth Smoothie King franchises with her husband, Robert, said the app won’t eliminate existing loyalty program collateral or completely replace print promotions.

“We’re just trying to get unified because so many people love these QR codes,” Andrews said. “It’s really about getting hip with the times and providing our guests the best experience possible.”

Not all Smoothie King locations are participating in app-specific promotions, Andrews added. But she hopes as it evolves its success will convince every franchise owner/operator throughout the United States to embrace the technology for customer convenience.

In addition to smoothies, Smoothie King also offers nutritional supplements, dried and packaged fruit and other healthful snacks.

Johns Creek Smoothie King is located in front of LA Fitness at 11720 Medlock Bridge Road where 141 intersects with McGinnis Ferry Road.
