Johns Creek Doctor Named to Leadership Post

Georgia Optometric Association names Dr. Glenda Brown as president-elect.

Dr. Glenda Brown of Johns Creek was recently selected by her peers to serve as president-elect of the Georgia Optometric Association. Founded in 1904, the Georgia Optometric Association (GOA) is a statewide professional organization whose 750 members serving communities throughout the state work to provide the public with quality vision and eye care services.

Dr. Brown, who has been a member of the GOA’s board of trustees for seven years, has served as chairman, secretary and treasurer. She has served as the chair of the Political Action Committee (PAC) for the American Optometric Association in Georgia. She is also a member of the Greater Atlanta Optometric Association.

Dr. Brown is in practice at and , which serve all of North Fulton, South Forsyth and North Gwinnett counties. She specializes in pediatric eyecare as well as full scope family eyecare.

A graduate of Milton High School in Alpharetta, Dr. Brown received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her optometric degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry.

She and her husband, Dr. Alan Brown, live in Johns Creek and have three children. She is active in her church, , and is an active parent supporter of Roswell Dance Theatre.
