Johns Creek Chamber Has New President

John Bemont named president after Doug Russ steps down.

The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce has announced that John Bemont has been appointed president of the organization. Doug Russ announced his resignation from the chamber to focus on his other business enterprises.  

Kent Davies, current chamber chairman, said, “The chamber has grown under Doug’s leadership. We wish him well on his new business venture.”

Bemont served as chairman of the board of the chamber from 2009 to 2010. He retired from AT&T in 1998 at its corporate headquarters in Morristown, N.J., after a 30-year career serving in operations, marketing and human resources. He has lived in the Johns Creek area for the past 12 years and was until recently owner of FastFrame of Johns Creek.

Bemont has been active in community organizations and has served in leadership roles in the Boy Scouts, the United Way, and various Chambers of Commerce. Bemont currently serves on the board of the Johns Creek Foundation. He is a member of .

“John is intimately familiar with the chamber’s daily operations, and can step right in and take over without missing a beat,” said Davies. “His extensive corporate background and time spent as a small business owner give him the perfect perspective from which to manage and continue to grow the chamber."

“I am very excited to accept the role of president of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce,” said Bemont. “I am a founding member of the chamber and have enjoyed watching it grow, prosper and serve the business community. I look forward to working with the board and community to enhance the chamber’s programs and expand into the economic development arena.”
