Hole in One for Good Causes

JCPD, Chamber hosting golf tourneys on Monday.

The links will be busy Monday as both the Johns Creek police and fire departments and the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce are hosting golf tournaments for great causes.

The police and fire departments are throwing to benefit the family of Corporal Greg Whitaker, a fellow police officer who died suddenly on March 2 following a brief illness. Taking place at St. Ives Country Club, the event initially was intended to help the officer's family with medical expenses, but also became a memorial upon his passing. Whitaker was 47 and is survived by his wife and two children.

The event includes live entertainment, a silent auction and raffle, dinner and an awards ceremony.
