Firehouse Subs Opens With Johns Creek Mural

Restaurant painting features Johns Creek Fire Department, Cougars and Gladiators.

Firehouse Subs has blazed into Johns Creek. While the restaurant may be famous for its toasted subs, the location at 6395 McGinnis Ferry Road also features a hand-painted mural with a little Johns Creek flavor. The hand-painted work stars a Johns Creek Fire Department engine parked next to a field while the Johns Creek Gladiators and Chattahoochee Cougars play football.

The restaurant chain, operated in Johns Creek by franchisees John and Diane Crow, boasts a firehouse setting based on the founders’ 200 years of firefighting heritage, and the new location is decorated with firefighter memorabilia in addition to the mural.

Families are welcome at Firehouse Subs, and children enjoy kid-sized hot subs and a complimentary fire hat with purchase of a kids’ combo. The Johns Creek location is open Monday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Firehouse Subs, founded in Jacksonville, Fla., by former firefighting brothers Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, is a 553-unit fast casual restaurant chain. Firehouse Subs offers oversized portions of premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, steamed and then piled high with fresh produce atop a toasted sub roll.

The restaurants reflect the authentic firefighter heritage of the founding family’s 200 years of firefighting service. In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs has given $5.2 million to hometown heroes in 33 states and Puerto Rico.
