North Fulton Hospital's Power of Pink fundraiser collected enough funds to present a $26,430,48 check to the Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta Affiliate.

More than 350 people gathered at North Fulton Hospital’s Power of Pink fundraiser on Sept. 20 to celebrate breast cancer survivors and raise funds for the Greater Atlanta Affilliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  The fundraiser, which included a luncheon, silent auction, and fashion show, was held at the Country Club of the South in Johns Creek.  Each year, the event has grown and donations have increased, making this year’s donation the largest donation by North Fulton Hospital to date, according to a news release from the hospital.

Over the last year, more than 40 businesses stepped up to support the event with sponsorships or in-kind donations of materials needed for the event.  In addition, more than 100 silent auction items were donated for auction.  Many of the guests in attendance had been affected by breast cancer, and came to show their support, but everyone was touched by the 11 models in the fashion show, all of whom are breast cancer patients from North Fulton Hospital.

“We are proud to be able to support the Atlanta Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation,” said Debbie Keel, CEO of North Fulton Hospital.  “We know how important it is for women to get their mammograms, and the money raised by the Power of Pink stays here in Metro Atlanta to provide free or low-cost screenings and breast cancer education here in our community.”
