Travel News from The Food Snob

The ambiance of Paris and the dream of being there kept me busy this week. The Food Snob has been in the office and not out and about this week and will return next week.

As you all know, I love to eat and travel. This week I am sorry to say, I have not eaten anywhere in Johns Creek. This is not because the construction is still a mess, or that there are a shortage of fine restaurants, or that I have tried all the places I care to here, but because I have been busy in my office. The travel business is certainly picking up and I have lots of offers to tell you about.Β

Before I tell you about those fabulous deals, I want to tell you all about one of my favorite places and the article I just read about Paris.

The article talks about the French ideal and magical lifestyle of existence along the Seine. I miss this city so much and long to be back. Alex and I were there a few years ago and it was quite magnifique!

The food, the sites, the people, the fashion. I can't say enough about life in this Parisan wonderland. Life along the Seine, from the Left Bank to the Right Bank and across the bridges, the city holds a new adventure for all who come.

Here are some facts about the Eiffel Tower you may not know. Gustave Eiffel built the tower in 1889, just after the Industrial Revolution. It was a temporary exhibit due to be demolished in 1909, but was instead left intact to use as a radio transmission tower. It has become one of the most recognized symbols in the world and one of the most visited sites in Paris. I, for one, love it and its wonderful park below for all the ambiance you'd expect from this iconic place.

The restaurants both along the Seine and close by hold some of the most delicious flare I have ever tasted. Taking a stroll along the river quays, you will encounter restaurants galore, bicyclists and lovers, all there for the peace this river somehow brings. At sunset, which sets behind the Eiffel Tower, you, too, will fall in love with this amazing city.

For those of you wanting to stick closer to home, I can make a few suggestions. New Orleans, although not Paris, is closer and offers many of the fine restaurants you would find in Paris. It also offers a new option for cruising for those of us in the Atlanta area. Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas is now sailing from New Orleans. This gives the southern region another option for vacationing at affordable prices. Have a look at the offers from Royal Caribbean and give me a call to talk it over.

Whether you want to book a cruise, take a French tour or just discuss your travel dreams, I can help.

Please feel free to contact me for your next vacation. I look forward to making your travel dreams a reality.

Look for my Food Snob article next week.
