Cigars, Cigarettes, Tiparillo's! Carnival Says Not Anymore

Good morning fellow travel enthusiasts. It's Babs again with some very interesting news from Carnival Cruise Lines. I have just recieved a notification that I will pass along to you. Carnival Cruise Lines has taken a very aggressive step in the industry. They are changing their smoking policies. This has been a bone of contention, for me, for a long time.

Alex, you know, my husband and travel companion, loves to travel to Las Vegas. No not on a ship, silly. The biggest problem I have there is the smoking. I always tell him "I'm not going there." I like to change it up from "I'm not eating that," because of all the smoke everywhere.

Well, I can't tell you that Las Vegas will ever change the smoking policies, but I am sure that this change in Carnival's policy will start the industry thinking about theirs as well.The cruise ships are much smaller than the casinos in Las Vegas, but the problem is just as big. If you are a non-smoker or former smoker, it's offensive. Who wants to smell like an ashtray, anyway?

I hope the other cruise lines follow in their footsteps. You know, when Delta Airlines changes a policy, all the industry bigwigs do the same. Let's hope it works the same way in the cruise industry. Kudos to Carnival.
