Swing Will be King at Johns Creek Symphony Concert

Swing will be king, promises the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra, when it brings its Symphonic Big Band concert to Johns Creek High this Saturday night.

The 8 p.m. concert will feature works from the likes of George Gershwin, Glenn Miller, the Dorsey Brothers, Duke Ellington and Hoagy Carmichael.

"Symphonic Big Band has certainly touched a nerve with music lovers all over the Johns Creek area," said Sue Haggerty, the symphony's executive director. "Our patrons are very excited about coming to hear this wonderful, familiar music. It's timeless, classic music that everyone can enjoy — and our very own JCSO musicians have fun playing as well. We anticipate a excellent night, a huge crowd and melodies which will be carried home in the minds of our audience."

Tickets, which can be purchased here, are $30 adults, $23.50 seniors and $16.50 students. Group discounts are available.

"We're approaching sellout status," Haggerty added. "We are now over 500 seats sold, with less than 100 available and I am certain by Saturday that's going to be closer to 50 or less."
