‘Movies in the Park’ Debuts Saturday With ‘Gulliver’s Travels’

Free movie preceded by children's activities and entertainment.

The City of Johns Creek's "Movies in the Park" series debuts this Saturday with a screening of "Gulliver's Travels" on a giant, inflatable screen.

The free event on Newtown Park's main soccer field is preceded by family-friendly entertainment, including an inflatable moonwalk and slide, face painting, children's activities, giveaways, and food and drink.

"Families are invited to enjoy a wonderful evening out in the park," said Kirk Franz, the city's Parks & Recreation manager. This is the fifth year the city has offered "Movies in the Park," and Franz said that as many as a couple of thousand people have shown up in the past, depending on the movie title. "We show family-friendly movies, and we always try to show something that is fairly recent," he added.
