Johns Creek Artists Invited to Enter Show

Johns Creek Arts Center's 'Inspirations' juried art show will reflect the city's history.

The will host the first “Johns Creek Inspirations” Juried Art Exhibition, with reception and awards being held on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m.

This year’s exhibition is to celebrate the five-year existence of the City of Johns Creek and invites artist Johns Creek residents to enter this show with a chance of having their piece bought by the Johns Creek Arts Center and presented to the City of Johns Creek for a permanent display in City Hall.

Artwork in the following 2-D media will be accepted: painting, drawing, printmaking and collage. All pieces entered into the show must be original, reflect the history of Johns Creek, and be submitted with a paragraph explaining how the artwork reflects the history of the city, along with a $10 entry fee per piece.

The show is open to all artists 18 years and older that reside in Johns Creek.  Please view entire prospectus at www.JohnsCreekArts.org for more information.

Award reception will coincide with the art center’s “Beer, Barbecue, Bowls & Beyond” event where there will be pottery and paintings for sale, as well as food and drink at no charge for everyone who makes a purchase (or a small fee to others).  Artists entering the “Johns Creek Inspirations” art show will have the opportunity to sell their submitted pieces and there will be a $500 purchase price for the first place winner.  The exhibition will be on display until Nov. 2.
