'Dolphin Tale' at Newtown Park

"Dolphin Tale," will be shown Aug. 4 at Newtown Park as the final film in Johns Creek's 2012 outdoor movie series.

In this 2011 release, a young dolphin is caught in a crab trap, severely damaging her tail. She is rescued, but, without a tail, faces a bleak future. A dedicated marine biologist, a brilliant prosthetics doctor, and a devoted young boy work to produce a ground-breaking miracle that could save the dolphin and could help people around the world. "Dolphin Tale" is rated PG.

The movie starts at dusk, about 9 p.m., at Newtown Park at 3150 Old Alabama Road. Pre-show activities, which start two hours earlier, include face painting, children's activities, give-aways, entertainment, food and drinks. Families are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs. No alcohol or pets please. FREE admission.
