Art Show Winners Announced

Johns Creek Arts Center announces winners of juried art show.

In conjunction with the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce, the recently hosted the opening reception evening for the Arts on the Creek Juried Art Show to kick off festivities and events. This is the second year that the Johns Creek Arts Center has hosted this show, which attracts high quality artwork and renowned local judges.

There was a great turn-out of art fans and local artists, creating a festive atmosphere. The evening ended with prizes being handed out to the winners.

In the ceramics division, first place was awarded to Joyce Reese for her “How is my Heart … it is Open” ceramic sculpture. Second place in ceramics was awarded to Irene Leung for her nesting bowls “Blossom.” Ceramics pieces were juried in by Judy Isaacs and winners were judge by Lora Rust.

The Visual Arts Categories were juried in by Patrick Taylor, and winners chosen by renowned Atlanta artist Ford Smith. Patrick McGannon won first place for his “Ballerina in Studio” and Rick Skees won second place with his “Fierce.”

The Arts on the Creek Exhibition will continue to be on display until the end of September, after which student and instructor artwork will be on display at the art center.
