YMCA Invites Community to Healthy Kids Day

Get a jump on summer at the Fowler Y Saturday, April 27, for free event for kids and their families.

It’s that time of year again….when the weather gets warmer, the days are longer, the teachers and students are both racing for the nearest door that leads to summer. Most parents are always looking for inspiration to help keep their kids and families active and engaged during the summer months.

Join Robert D. Fowler YMCA for its Annual Healthy Kids Day event, Saturday April 27, 9-12 p.m. This is a free event that is open to the entire community. Research shows that children gain weight two to three times faster during summer vacation than during the school year. This is why the resources and activities provided at the Healthy Kids Day event are critical to the families in the community.

For 22 years, Healthy Kids Day has been a terrific foundation for the Y’s commitment to nurturing the potential of kids. Activities at this year’s event will include: resources from several local vendors, healthy snacks from Trader Joe's and Cosco’s, Kids Zumba® demonstrations, face painting, bouncy houses, games, cooking demonstrations, and give-a-ways!

The YMCA encourages everyone in the community to attend the Fowler Y on Saturday, April 27, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. for the Annual Healthy Kids Day event.
