Tiny Bundle of Joy Needs a Home

Chihuahua mix is ready for adoption through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet "Lisa Marie"! This Chihuahua mix is 1-2 years old and weighs in at 8 pounds of joy, fun and love!

Lisa Marie is fully crate-trained, and has no issues with being crated. She is almost fully housebroken, but still does best when she has access to being taken out to potty during the day.

This pup is great with other dogs, ignores her foster's kitty and although she is not aggressive at all, true to her breed, she is a "barker."  Lisa Marie had a very rough start in life: she was literally saved from death row, was scheduled to be euthanized but saved at the last minute by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

After being rescued, she was taken to one of Angels' vets and somehow slipped through the hands of one of their vet techs and took off! After a frantic three-hour search by Angels volunteers, she was relocated and safely came running into the arms of one of the volunteers.  Once vetted and taken to her foster home, poor Lisa Marie would not eat or drink anything and had been that way for 18 hours.

She was taken back to the vet, who discovered the young dog was suffering with the dreaded parvo virus that takes the lives of so many pups! After being successfully treated for parvo, this poor little soul then came down with pneumonia and was aggressively treated in a vet hospital for five days until she was able to finally be well again.

Now, she is all better, fully well, fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and more than ready to get on with living a happy life with a family to call her very own! Lisa Marie loves to go for walks, and when she walks.....she literally prances!

As with many little pups, Lisa Marie "thinks" she's a bigger girl and loves to chase after and play with the bigger dogs in her foster home.  Even though she never catches them, she adores running after them, trying to keep up.
One of her favorite things in life is getting lots of tummy rubs from her foster mommy.

But her favorite thing of all is just being her human's little lap baby - snuggling, cuddling, and just being happy right next to the person she adores most in the world!

The ideal home for Lisa Marie would be one that has another dog who is willing to be her buddy and play with her in the backyard. She would need a fenced-in yard with a secure gate and preferably, her human would either work from home or be retired - it would be OK if they worked, but were home a lot of the time, so she could go out and potty and also just be "close" to her person.

Like all Chihuahuas, Lisa Marie does like to bark at strangers, as she is protective of her home and her person, and since she is tiny, she would do best in a home with older kids and not small children.
