Thousands Turn Out for 7th Annual Founders Day Parade

Did you or one of your friends make it on Patch this year? Let us know.

Despite the dropping temperatures, Johns Creek residents took to the streets to watch the 7th annual Founders Day Parade that stepped off shortly after 10 o'Clock Saturday morning.

By 9:45 a.m. thousands of folks - some with their kids and family dog in tow - collected along the mile-long parade route on State Bridge Road. Those who braved the cold were treated to marching bands, funny cars, fire engines, politicians, and plenty more.

The Johns Creek Police Department's kicked off the morning with several motorcycle units performing figure eights with sirens blaring following by the color guard.

And there was lots more. Back again was the Medieval Times knights with their damsels, the Atlanta Braves Heavy Hitters with Homer the Brave, the Seed and Feed Abominables and the Atholl Highlanders Pipes and Drums.

The parade had over 65 participants this year. CBS reporter Renee Starzyk who is also a Johns Creek resident, was the parade MC.

Take a look through the photos - and the videos of the 2013 parade - and let us know what you liked best about the parade.
