Meet Applesauce, a 9-month old female English Bulldog mix who is as sweet as her name. This girl was brought into a county shelter as a stray, and was found to be extremely underweight, with mange and ear infections.
The day this baby was due to be euthanized, one of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue's volunteers spent a good deal of time with her and fell totally in love with her sweet and innocent personality and loving ways. Literally minutes before her time, Applesauce was saved by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and is now thriving in a loving, safe foster home.
Applesauce is great with other dogs - she literally follows them around and just loves to be with them. She has been on multiple play dates with larger dogs and gets along just fine with all dogs - large or small. She is also very good around children, and just loves everyone she meets - male or female. She isn't fostered in a home with cats but has checked out the neighbor's kitties and has shown no aggression issues at all.
She is a very calm young girl and loves to go on walks. She isn't extremely high energy and is happy to take a nap on a soft bed anytime the house is quiet. She enjoys chewing on her Kongs and other sturdy toys. This little girl will follow her people from room to room - she just loves to be near you and with you.
Applesauce has learned to sit and lay down for her treats and has even gone out with her foster to a dog-friendly restaurant, and was the perfect little lady. She rides great in the car, as well.
Applesauce would do well in a home with other dogs who wouldn't mind being her buddy. She really enjoys the company of her fostered canine brothers and sisters. She is an extremely easy dog to foster and to fall in love with.
Like any pup, she does have occassional bursts of energy but, overall, she is a loving, laid-back little girl who isn't at all a busy-body who needs to be busy all the time.
The ideal home for Applesauce would be one with playmates, a fenced-in yard, or at least an owner who doesn't work long hours. Most of all, she requires her human to be willing to give her lots of belly rubs, love and attention, and a home with lots of doggy toys.
Applesauce is spayed, 99 percent housetrained, is crate-trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She is also up-to-date on all shots and vetting and is microchipped.
