Shred Sensitive Documents on Saturday

Fight identity theft, shred personal records for free Feb. 9,

Johns Creek residents can safely get rid of sensitive documents Saturday, Feb. 9, by taking them to a commercial shredder at Panera, 11715 Medlock Bridge Road, near the intersection of McGinnis Ferry.

The shredding service, available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is sponsored by Panera Bread Company, Keep Johns Creek Beautiful, and the City of Johns Creek. All paper will be recycled. The shredding is done on-site for free.

To avoid identity theft, the Federal Trade Commission recommends shredding charge receipts, copies of credit applications, insurance forms, physician statements, checks and bank statements, expired charge cards and credit offers.
