Say 'Hello' to Fall at Newtown Park on Saturday

Fall Family Festival to usher in autumn, while Farmers Market says 'goodbye' for the season.

will be bustling with activity on Saturday as the city's inaugural Farmers Market closes out the summer season and the fourth annual Fall Family Festival welcomes the arrival of autumn.

The festival is introducing some new attractions this year, including bounce houses, a Velcro-wall, a bungee run and a radar gun to test pitching speed. Old favorites, such as the inflatable slide, carnival games, a magician, face painting, and finger painting, will also be part of the fun. will even bring some of its animals.

And don't forget the food. OpTech Monette, a contractor for the city, will provide free hotdogs as long as they last; and the Chattahoochee High School Band will sell funnel cakes as a fundraiser. Other food vendors will be on hand, and local businesses will set up booths.

Meanwhile, the Farmers Market, which hosted nearly 30 vendors each Saturday since its debut on July 9,Β will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. offering up locally grown and produced goods. This weekend the market will be located on the field with the festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to both is free.
