Residents Can Shred Sensitive Documents For Free

The city of Johns Creek, Keep Johns Creek Beautiful and Panera Bread will offer a free sensitive document shredding service for residents on Aug. 2.

Johns Creek residents will be able to safely dispose of sensitive documents next month — for free!

The city on Aug. 2 will have a commercial shredding service set up at Panera Bread, located at 11715 Medlock Bridge Road for residents to utilize. The service will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The initiative is sponsored by the restaurant chain, Keep Johns Creek Beautiful and the city of Johns Creek. All paper will be recycled. The shredding is done on-site for free by Cintas.

To avoid identity theft, the Federal Trade Commission recommends shredding charge receipts, copies of credit applications, insurance forms, physician statements, checks and bank statements, expired charge cards and credit offers.
