Movies in the Park, Farmers Market This Weekend

Not going to the PGA? There's still plenty to do in the area this weekend.

Where/When: , 3150 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, 30022; Saturday, Aug. 13, 7 p.m.

Why Go?: “Movies in the Park" is a summer outdoor series of family-friendly movies presented on a huge inflatable screen at Newtown Park. Movie starts at dusk with pre-show activities starting two hours prior to movie around 7. Activities include an inflatable moonwalk and giant slide, face painting, children's activities, giveaways, entertainment, food and drinks, along with displays from local businesses/organizations.

Why Go? From churches to Victorian houses, get to know the heritage of Johns Creek buildings. The Heritage Center opens one historic building to the public each Saturday.

Why Go? Big Bad Voodoo Daddy brings the swing to Alpharetta when the band performs with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
