Johns Creek Names Firefighter of the Quarter

Anthony Saunders was awarded the honor last week.

Anthony Saunders has been named Firefighter of the Quarter by the Johns Creek Fire Department. 

Saunders was bestowed the honor for the first quarter of 2013. 

“Anthony is an excellent firefighter who works hard every day,” said Johns Creek Fire Chief Jeff Hogan. “He is a team player and we’re fortunate to have him serving the Johns Creek community.”

A native of Morrow, Saunders began his firefighting career in 2002 in his hometown where he also received his fire training. 

Prior to coming to Johns Creek, Saunders was employed by the city of East Point He joined the Johns Creek department when it launched in October 2008.

Saunders is finishing a bachelor of science degree in fire and emergency services at the University of Florida and serves the community from Station 62.

“I’m very honored to have received this recognition,” said Saunders. “I’m thankful to work with some of the best firefighters I’ve ever known. Our job is based on teamwork. It’s all about the people standing next to you and I’m grateful to be a part of this team.”
