Heritage Day, Fine Wine, Good Music on Tap This Weekend

You can also tour the Humane Society's new North Fulton campus.

Where/When: , 9770 Autrey Mill Road, Johns Creek, 30022; Saturday, June 4, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go?: Tour historic buildings, and enjoy tea and Victorian crafts in the Summerour House, Old Timers Round Table, gem mining demonstration, musical performance by High Cotton, exhibits and much more. Concessions available. Georgia public/private elementary or preschool teachers get free admission with valid ID and should register at the educators table.

Price: $5 members/$7 non-members; max $20/$25 per family.

Atlanta Humane Society Community Open House

Where/When: The Atlanta Humane Society's North Fulton campus, 1565 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, 30076; Saturday, June 4, 3 to 7 p.m.

Why Go? Tour the future North Fulton animal shelter while enjoying food, music and vendors. The family pet is welcome, too!

Price: Free, but donations accepted.

Where/When: , 2200 Encore Parkway, Alpharetta, 30009; Saturday, June 4,  7:30 p.m.

Why Go?: Many of Miranda Lambert's biggest hits have tended to be her boldest songs, which brought her nine CMA nominations, including Entertainer, Album and Female Vocalist of the Year as well as Single and Video of the Year for “White Liar” and “The House That Built Me” and Song of the Year for “White Liar” and Musical Event for “Bad Angel” with Dierks Bentley.

Price: $49, $39 & $19; reserved.

Where/When: , 1221 Riverside Road, Roswell, 30076; Saturday, June 4, 7 p.m.

Why Go?: A free outdoor summer concert series at Riverside Park. Food is available for purchase at the concession stand or you may bring your own.  Blankets and chairs are welcome and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  In case of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled.  

Price:  Free.

Where/When: 5400 Town Creek Road, Dahlonega, 30533; Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Why Go?: BlackStock Vineyards & Winery is hosting a two-day Georgia Fine Wine Festival featuring the finest food, wine, music and art found in the North Georgia mountains.  Receive a festival glass to sample more than 60 100-percent Georgia-grown fine wines from several Georgia wineries; two food tickets to sample tapas-style offerings from 25 North Georgia restaurants; live music from the Kip Dockery Jazz Quartet on BlackStock’s spacious covered deck; and folk crafts demonstrations featured on the grounds. Additionally, a complimentary petting zoo is provided for children, and tractor pulled vineyard tours are also offered throughout the weekend for an additional fee.

Price: $50 per person for one-day tickets.
