Why: The Johns Creek Police Department will host its third annual golf tournament to benefit Special Olympics Georgia. The tournament is part of the JCPD's annual participation in the non-profit's Law Enforcement Torch Run, which raises money each year to serve more than 23,000 intellectually disabled children and adults across the state.
The tournament is an 18-hole, 4-man scramble format. Registration includes green fee and cart, range balls, box lunch, buffet dinner, awards and prizes.

The Plant Swap runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Bring plants from home to trade for other plants. The "Basics of Gardening" class, with Gail Zorn of Gwinnett Technical College, will be from 10 until 11 a.m. Bring a chair and enjoy the garden.
