Family Festival, Movies in the Park This Weekend
This summer weekend is full of family fun.

Why Go?: Family festival includes nflatables, kiddie train, games, giveaways, local artisans, food and product demonstrations, dance and martial arts demonstrations, canvas and nail painting. Local musicians the Oswald Brothers will perform.

Why Go?: The family comedy "Gulliver's Travels" is the film selection on June 11 for Johns Creek's first 'Movies in the Park' of the summer season. The movie starts at dusk at Newtown Park at 3150 Old Alabama Road. Pre-show activities start roughly two hours earlier, at 7 p.m., and include an inflatable moonwalk and giant slide, face painting, children's activities, give-aways, entertainment, food and drinks. Families are invited to bring blankets and relax. No alcohol or pets.

Why Go?: Golf lovers everywhere are invited to view the PGA Championship History Exhibit, "A History of the Season's Final Major," through Aug. 14 at the Johns Creek Welcome Center. The exhibit combines both golf artifacts and memorabilia that reveal the history and tradition of the PGA Championship and its past 92 champions: from Walter Hagen to Jack Nicklaus to Tiger Woods to last year's PGA Champion, Martin Kaymer.

9th Annual Back to the Chattahoochee River Race & Festival
Where/When: 8000 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, 30076; Saturday, June 11, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Why Go?: Paddlers of all ages and skill levels will take to the water for the 9th annual Back to the Chattahoochee River Race and Festival. The race course begins at Garrard Landing Park on Holcomb Bridge Road and ends at Riverside Park in Roswell, the site of the family-friendly festival, music and awards presentation

Why Go?: Inspired by Evelyn Simpson, descendant of Barrington King, co-founder of the town, the Roswell Lavender Festival honors and commemorates the beauty and various uses of this ancient herb in a lively family-friendly festival setting. Barrington Hall’s lavish gardens and grounds will feature a variety of demonstration booths, vendors, hands-on crafts and performances, all paying homage to the festival’s namesake.
